Heated Low Voltage Electric Mattress Pad :: Soft Heat Warming Mattress Pad

Do you like to use a heated mattress pad to warm the sheets for you when the weather turns cold? I like to have the air temperature slightly cold at night because I sleep so much better, but I always hated climbing into bed in the winter when the sheets are so cold. Well now I don't have to wait for my husband to warm the bed up because we use the Soft Heat Electric Mattress Pad.

In the past I have used electric blankets, but I always found them to be uncomfortable. They were heavy and difficult to wash. I would want the blanket on, but my husband would want it off. Then as soon as he wanted it on, I wanted it off.

One of the things that I like the best about this heated mattress pad is the fact that it has a dual zone control. This allows you to each set the temperature that you want. So, when I am freezing I can turn the heating control up and he can turn his side off if need be.

The feature that convinced me to buy this electric mattress pad was the fact that the wires are so tiny, they are really unnoticeable. It looks like an everyday normal mattress pad that you would use to protect your mattress. The only thing that is different about this one is that you will need to plug it in.

For safety reasons, this is a low voltage electric mattress pad. Meaning, when you plug it in, there is a box that converts the 120V from your outlet to a low voltage heat. This prevents the pad from overheating and causing damage.The low voltage system will not be damaged in case the mattress pad gets wet accidentally either.

There is another safety mechanism that will prevent the mattress pad from overheating and that is the automatic shut-off. This heated mattress pad will automatically shut off after 10 hours just in case you forget to turn it off when you wake up in the morning.

You also have the benefit of a 200+ thread count that makes it soft to the touch. I prefer to use a higher thread count sheet on top of it.

You might be surprised to learn that the only reason to use a heated mattress pad is not to warm the sheets before you climb into bed on cold winter nights. I was! In fact, ask yourself a few questions like -

• Do you want to save on your heating bills?
• Do you have stiff joints and/or suffer from arthritis?
• Do you wake up easily in the middle of the night from changing positions?
• Hate using a heavy top blanket?
  
• Get muscle cramps and muscle spasms easily?
• Have difficulty regulating your body temperature?
• Do you like getting into a toasty warm bed?

If you answered yes to any of these, you might want to consider treating yourself to an electric mattress pad. I did and I am so happy. I can't wait to put it on in the Fall.

A heated mattress pad is one of those things that many think it would be nice to have, but just can't justify treating ourselves to one. This is a great gift to give that person who has everything. I am giving my Mom one this Christmas because she would never buy it herself, but I think it will bring her lots of comfort. I hope so!
